Home gardening

Kenyan schools remain closed. Children cannot manage their training farms at school and any meeting of a large number of people is forbidden. Carole visits children in their homes, finds out how they are doing, what they need and how they could use a lot of free time.

Many of them would like to transfer their knowledge from the school farm to home; they would like to start a home garden which will help their moms spend less when buying food. They will grow vegetables, some fruit or legumes. At the moment 25 children are establishing their home garden. All of them received the necessary seeds, some even tools. They will learn from the more experienced, such as Mrs. Christine’s children, who are already reaping sukumawiki by this time.
